About Us

The Lodge which is part of Eastcott Barn is run by Jennifer Ash and her family.

Jennifer Ash

For over 16 years I had a dream of making a place where people could come who needed to take time out, to find a nurturing place to think about things. Maybe these would be people who were feeling "what is this all about" or wanting to change their lives in some way, people who might be feeling overwhelmed, unhappy, stressed or just wanting time and space to reflect.

At first this dream seemed just fantasy but amazingly over the subsequent years it grew into a vision which materialized, in spite of all odds!

I have lived at Eastcott since the mid 70's and now two of my children have returned with their partners and families to live in our extended property - because we all love it here, in this more secret area of Devon. The natural world and the beauty of the Blackdown Hills forms thebackdrop and the resource of my work - and life.

My early working life was in social work, until I left  to raise my four children and run our smallholding here at Eastcott.  In 1990 I returned to work in a general hospital and in 1993 commenced a professional training in Core Process Psychotherapy.

In recent years I worked in a Community Mental Health Team, whilst also continuing my psychotherapeutic practice both privately and within the NHS. Since leaving the statutory services, I have completed a Diploma in Medical Qigong and am so pleased to have found a way of combining spiritual healing with a structured form that feels really helpful. Without intention and through a series of synchronistic events, I became involved with Sound healing and in 2012 completed a year long Gong Practitioner Training course.

I have wide ranging interests but in terms of therapy I have taken part in various other trainings includingGroup Therapy, Past Life Regression, Family Constellations, Psychic development, Shamanism and Ecotherapy

I am an  Accredited Core Process Psychotherapist, registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy, which sets standards for psychotherapy in the UK.
